2021 – 2022 Ski Season News

Greetings,

Good news, it looks like we will have a more regular ski season this year than last with fewer restrictions allowing us to resume operation. We will be offering bus day trips and a week long trip this year as well as SkiMax ticket sales which Tremblant is once again offering to ski clubs, Gatineau pass sales and more.

The ski club registration available

The ski club registration system is available to purchase club memberships and SkiMax tickets. More items to purchase or sign up for will be added as soon as they become available.

Ski Max tickets on sale

SkiMax ticket sales will be different this year in that the club will not be handing physical tickets anymore. For sales, you will be directed to the Tremblant online ticket sales website to purchase your tickets. You will be supplied with a discount code witch will give you a 38% savings over regular ticket prices if purchased before October 26th, and a 34% saving if purchased before December 7th. You will pickup your tickets at customer service at Tremblant instead of having to collect them from us at a distribution event, which should be much more convenient for you. In previous years we had to add credit card and e-commerce system surcharges to the ticket price, so as the club is not having to handle the money for the tickets this year means you get to save those charges for even more savings. One final note about the tickets: in previous years the tickets did not have any blackout days, unfortunately Tremblant has decided to have a Christmas blackout period for SkiMax this year, which will be from December 27 till Jan 02.

Ski Club week long ski trip

The Bytown Ski Club has returned from a hiatus and finalized plans to offer members a week-long ski and boarder group package to Big White British Columbia this coming winter. We have reserved thirty hotel and air spots for participants of this ski week from Saturday January 29 through Saturday February 5, 2022. Registration for this trip starts Sept 27th.

In light of the pandemic situation, skiers and the Club have opted to depart from the successful European offering of recent years to stay in Canada this winter. To promote the safety of our members, we will entertain registration for this group trip only from people that will have obtained their double vaccination prior to the trip departure.

For more details, please see our Trips page.

Bytown Ski Club Annual General Meeting

Want to provide input into club plans and activities? Join us at out online ski club AGM — all are welcome. Tentative date is set at October 25th at 7pm. Online meeting details forthcoming! Help us meet the needs of our members.

Volunteers

what can we say…. this club cannot run without volunteers. Please contact us by email if you can help out in any way. We are looking for someone familiar with WordPress to look after updating our website as well as new ideas — big and small. It’s always nice to have some new thoughts into the group!!.

2020 – 2021 ski season news

Tremblant has decided not to offer SkiMax tickets for sale this year, so we will not be selling them. Hopefully we will be able to sell them next year. Please note that if you have any tickets left over from last year, they will be valid all season this year. Remember to check the Tremblant website to get information on how to plan your ski trip as Covid restrictions will be in effect this winter.

Greetings,

Unfortunately this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, the ski club will only be offering a restricted program of events this year.

  • We are currently awaiting information from the various ski hills about what their operations will be like, which in turn depend upon what the provincial governments allow, which as you all know, seem to be changing frequently right now. Stay tuned and we will let you know when we do.
  • Mont Tremblant currently has not decided whether to offer SkiMax tickets for sale this year or not. If they do, the sales process from our end will be streamlined, eliminating in person ticket pickup. As soon as they let us know, we will let you know.
  • We will not be organizing any day bus trips to any ski hills this year. Covid and packing a bunch of people on a bus for a couple of hours don’t go well together. Additionally we will not be organizing any week long trips this year for the same reason.
  • The Coldwell-Banker office at 2 Hobin St. Stittsville  that has been offering us drop off and pickup service over the last few years will not be offering them this year. Please do not go there to drop off cheques. Hopefully next season we will be back working with them again for your convenience.

We are however busy thinking up some new fun activities that we can organize for our members, both on alpine and cross country terrain, that can be done observing social distancing rules. Stay tuned for details to follow soon.

Bus Trips on-line; Tremblant tickets sold out

Bytown Day Bus Trips — We have 6 day trips scheduled for this year.  Four to Mont Tremblant, one to Mont Blanc and one to Mont Sutton.

Four of the trips are on Sundays and two are on Fridays (that coincide with school PD days). The list of trips and basic pricing is available on the trips page. Please sign up early to ensure that trips will proceed as planned!

Tremblant SkiMax tickets — SkiMax ticket sales are completed for this year. They will be on sale again next September.

2019 SkiMax sales open

The Bytown ski club is once again offering Tremblant SkiMax discount ski day passes for sale at a 42% discount from the ticket window price.

The tickets are direct to lift, just attach the ticket to your coat and head to the lift. The tickets are good until December 11, 2020 with no blackout periods. Get your Tremblant tickets while they are at our lowest price of the year, $71.27. The ticket window price for an adult ticket at Tremblant is $124.35 this year, more during Christmas and spring break. Cheque sales only right now to keep the price low. Credit card sales will be available in a few weeks at a slightly higher price (to cover the credit card processing fee).

We can get you this great deal by bulk order purchases from Tremblant. Tickets ordered in September and October will be available for pickup in late October. Tickets can also be mailed out to you (at additional cost) if you prefer.
