Edelweiss meetup; Tremblant trips; Titus mountain self-drive trip

Edelweiss ski meet up this Sunday — Come join us for another casual ski day and social get together at Edelweiss this Sunday afternoon, March 8. Join in for some social ski time at 10 am or just join in for snacks in the afternoon at 2 pm.

Meet at 10 am in front of the main lodge (look for Glen in a yellow scarf). Meet at the bar in the lodge at 2 pm and we’ll have free snacks and hot cocoa for you.

Tremblant day trips: March 15 and April 5 — We have a couple of day trips coming up on March 15th and April 5th. Come out for some great skiing at Tremblant. If you don’t ski or snowboard, we have a bus only option where you can enjoy the village, do some cross country skiing, snow shoeing, shopping or hit up the new water park Brind’O Aquaclub.

Bus leaves 6:15am from the Bells Corners Loblaws and we also do a pickup at the Loblaws on Isabella at 6:30am if requested. Log into the Member Zone to sign up now.

Trip departure location and times are located on our trips info page, and are also in the receipt that you received when you purchased the trip.

Discount at Microtel Inn & Suites Mont-Tremblant — Microtel Hotels has offered club members a 15% discount on their Best Available Rate for the season (blackout dates may apply). This pet-friendly hotel also provides free hot breakfasts, a shuttle to the hill, hot tub and pool, and more! The inn is just beside the Tim Hortons and McDonalds as you turn off of the highway to go to Tremblant.

Titus Mountain: self-drive trip on March 21, 2020 — Located only two hours from Ottawa, Titus Mountain Resort outside Malone, New York in the Adirondacks was voted “Voted #2 family-friendly resort” and “#2 best overall resort” in North America. Drive yourself down for the day or stay overnight at the Malone Holiday Inn Express hotel, which accepts Canadian cash at par for hotel rooms.

There are couple of seats available in one of the club executives car for this event. Please contact us if you are interested in sharing a ride.

Camp Fortune meet up Feb 9; Tremblant hotel discount

Camp Fortune ski meet up this Sunday — Come join us for another casual ski day and social get together at Camp Fortune this Sunday afternoon, February 9. This event is free and open to all, and we’ll have nachos and hot cocoa at the end of the day. Meet at 11 am in front of the chalet (look for Glen in a yellow scarf). Enjoy the slopes for the rest of the day and meet from 3 pm to 5 pm in the bar for free snacks and hot cocoa (table reserved under “Bytown Ski Club”).

Tremblant tickets — We are SOLD OUT of tickets. If you have extra tickets to sell, or would like to purchase tickets, please email us and we’ll coordinate buyers and sellers. So far we have NO sellers and quite a few interested buyers.

Mont Tremblant on Friday February 14 — trip is confimred to GO! We have currently 34 participants signed up to the trip with a maximum capacity of 56 persons on the bus. If you are interested in joining, please register now in the Member Zone.

Pick up locations will be at Bells Corners (Loblaws Bells Corners South-West parking lot) at 6:15am and Ottawa Downtown (Loblaws on Isabella, North-West parking lot) at 6:30am.

Trips, trips, trips! Tremblant is a GO for Jan 24

Mont Tremblant on Friday, January 24 — trip is confirmed to GO! Come join us for a fabulous day of skiing on Friday. The weather won’t be bitterly cold, they’ve had recent snow and it’s a day off for the elementary kids!

If you don’t ski, we have a bus only option where you can enjoy the village, do some cross country skiing, snow shoeing, shopping or hit up the new water park Brind’O Aquaclub.

Bus leaves 6:15am from the Bells Corners Loblaws and we also do a pickup at the Loblaws on Isabella at 6:30am if requested. There are lots of seats still available! Sign up now in the Member Zone for this or any of our upcoming trips. The next two planned trips are to Tremblant on February 14 and Mount Sutton on March 1.

Mont Blanc trip and others; meet up at Calabogie

Meet and Greet @ Calabogie — All Bytown Ski Club members are invited to join our Austrian ski week travelers for a pre-Europe warm up at Calabogie Peaks on Saturday January 11.

Drop by the Bytown members welcome table between 9:15 and 10:15 to register so we’ll know how many tables to reserve for après-ski cocktails in the Black Donald Lounge upstairs at the Calabogie Peaks Ski lodge from 3:00 onwards. We’ll have some muchies at our Bytown tables, plus there is entertainment with Vicki Brittle that afternoon.

Remember your Bytown membership card to get a members’ only discount off regular price Calabogie ski-pass.

Membership — You can join us anytime!! Only $11 for adults and $5 for kids. We have discounts available at local merchants, membership meet and greets (Calabogie on Jan 11), fun day trips and we support all those who need an excuse to get out of the house and do some fun stuff outdoors in the winter. Bus Trips on-line; Tremblant tickets sold out

Bytown Day Bus Trips — We have 6 day trips scheduled for this year.  Four to Mont Tremblant, one to Mont Blanc and one to Mont Sutton.

Four of the trips are on Sundays and two are on Fridays (that coincide with school PD days). The list of trips and basic pricing is available on the trips page. Please sign up early to ensure that trips will proceed as planned!

Tremblant SkiMax tickets — SkiMax ticket sales are completed for this year. They will be on sale again next September.

St. Anton trip update; Calabogie and Titus mountain meetups

Austria ski trip — there will be an information meeting on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Ottawa Public Library, Centrepointe branch, Meeting Room 1B. Don will talk about his pre-Christmas visit to St. Anton, and Touringhouse will provide your airline package. The highlights will be sent out before the trip departure, if you cannot make it. Ski club meetups — Don is organizing a pre-Europe meetup and a post-trip reunion afterwards; all Bytown ski club members are invited to both:

  • Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Calabogie Peaks: Drop by the Bytown ski club welcome table before 10:15 or meet in the Black Donald lounge for après-ski cocktails from 3:30 onward. Remember to bring your Bytown ski club membership card to enjoy a 20% discount on lift tickets.
  • February 16 or 17, 2020 at Titus Mountain in Malone, New York: details still to be confirmed; working on having a 2-for-1 deal. Located only two hours from Ottawa, Titus Mountain was “Voted #2 family-friendly resort” and “#2 best overall resort” in North America. It has 50 runs, 1200′ vertical, night skiing and a great tubing park.
